The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) of Saudi Arabia, and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO) of Japan, are to build a reverse osmosis plant in Saudi, reports Saudi Gazette.
The deal was authorised by Saudi’s Council of Ministers on 26 September 2017, among a raft of other unrelated measures.
The project will include companies that were involved with NEDO’s Mega-ton Water Project, which aimed to reduce the consumption of energy and chemicals in desalination processes, and thus to reduce costs.
