Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) is poised to invite bids from mobile desalination providers to augment supplies until its planned large scale projects start producing.
The organisation will receive SAR 175 million ($46.7 million) a year for the mobile supplies, in funds which have been granted by King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
“The generous order to allocate this amount annually will contribute to the increase of our supply of desalinated water in a short time, until the completion of current projects,” said minister of environment, water and agriculture, Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli.
The mobile units will supply the regions of Jazan and Asir, and may also move around.
