A video has been posted on YouTube of San Diego’s Advanced Water Purification Facility, the centerpiece of the city’s Water Purification Demonstration Project.
The facility is demonstrating the purification of 1 MGD (3,785 m³/d) of recycled water using membrane filtration, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet light/advanced oxidation.
Narrated by Marsi Steirer, director of the project, the video provides a tour of the facility as well as specific information, illustrations and diagrams of the processes and steps involved in the purification efforts. The demonstration project will conclude in early 2013.
