Ceramic membranes replace polymer in Saudi projects

German ceramic membrane-maker ItN Nanovation AG has received two orders for its flat membrane filters for groundwater projects in Saudi Arabia, replacing previously used polymer membranes.
The orders, worth € 4.5 million combined, are for the Buraydah and Buraydah North deep groundwater projects where the membranes were extensively tested in recent years. The order came through ItN’s local agent Juffali Chemical Projects.
The Buraydah plants, equipped with ItN’s CFM systems, enable the daily filtration and treatment of around 100,000 m³/d of drinking water.
ItN announced some weeks ago a conditional confirmation letter from the local general contractor for delivery of membranes worth around € 4.0 million for the Humaima project in Saudi Arabia. The finalisation of this order is expected shortly.
