The International Desalination Association has opened registration for the next IDA Desalination Academy courses in Singapore on 16‑19 September 2013.
The curriculum, which will be offered at the Water Hub in Singapore, will focus on membrane technology.
The courses are:
Intermediate and Advanced module levels of Pretreatment Alternatives and Optimization of Desalination Plant Design conducted by Dr Mark Wilf An Advanced module on Forward Osmosis and Membrane Distillation conducted by Professor Rong Wang An Advanced module on Brine Discharge and Outfall Design Issues conducted by Professor Adrian Law An Advanced program on The Effectiveness of Pretreatment in Reducing and Eliminating Organic and Biofouling in SWRO & Wastewater Desalination, conducted by Professor Harvey Winters. Khoo Teng Chye, executive director for the Centre for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development, Singapore, will be providing an introduction and brief overview of the IDA Academy objectives and course. Khoo is an IDA director and member of the board of governors for the Academy.
