Papermaker ups water performance with Desalitech reverse osmosis
Arizona-based papermaker, Doubletree Paper Mills, said it has increased its purified water recovery by 20% at its Gila Bend plant since replacing its reverse osmosis water treatment system in 2014 with Desalitech’s ReFlex RO system. The modification has also cut wastewater output by almost two thirds and lopped 25 % off energy consumption said Doubletree.

Containerized plant resolves district’s drought difficulties
Membrane filtration company, H2O Innovation, has delivered a 3,200 m³/d containerized water treatment system to the Cambria Community Service District, California to “resolve promptly” the community’s difficulties amid its tenth year of drought. The system treats a mix of brackish water, freshwater and secondary effluent to be injected into a groundwater basin.

GE wins drive deal for Yanbu 3 desalination plant
GE’s Power Conversion arm has won a deal to provide the electrical variable speed drive (eVSD) system, including motors and MV7000 drives, to the Yanbu 3 power and desalination plant under construction in Saudi Arabia. The systems will reduce the energy needed to run the desalination process as well as the overall cost, said GE.
