IDE claims production record at Ashkelon

Water treatment firm, IDE Technologies, has claimed that its seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant at Ashkelon, Israel, has reached a world record with 1 billion m³ of potable water produced since the start of its operation in 2005.

IDE claims the to 330,000 m³/d plant has set a one of the world’s lowest priced desalinated water. It produces around 13% of Israel’s domestic consumer demand — some to 5-6% of Israel’s total water needs.
