Pratt & Witney to validate PEI equipment
08 Nov 08 by desalination
US space and aero engine-builder Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Inc (PWR) is to provide engineering and development services for Pump Engineering Inc (PEI), manufacturer of desalination pumping and energy-recovery equipment.
PWR will assist with validation of hydraulic and rotor dynamic performance, and optimization of PEI’s AT Turbocharger and AVS pump lines used in the high-pressure circuits of large seawater reverse-osmosis desalination plants.
“Incremental improvements are the historical basis of turbomachinery development,” said Robert Oklejas, chairman and president of PEI.
