Eleven firms vie to qualify for Al Ghubrah III desal project, Oman

Eleven international developers have submitted statements of qualification for Al Ghubrah III desalination plant project, Oman.

The 300,000 m3/d mega seawater desalination plant in Al Ghubrah, Muscat, is being procured by Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP).

The companies and consortia that want to qualify are: International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power); Cobra Instalaciones Y Servicio, with FCC Aqualia, and Majis Industrial Services; International Power S.A., (IPSA); GS Inima Environment; Marubeni Corporation; Abengoa, with Shumookh Investment and Services, Engineering Procurement & Project Management (EEPM), and Al Bashair Investment; Sembcorp Utilities; Sojitz Corporation; Suez International; Sumitomo Corporation, with Malakoff International; and Utico FZC, with IDB Infrastructure Fund, and United Water.
