Xylem has signed a four-year sponsorship deal with Manchester City Football Club to promote the Xylem brand and spark conversations about water globally.
The agreement between the water technology company and the club covers the men’s and women’s games for four seasons from 2018-19, and was unveiled at Singapore International Water Week 2018. Xylem will partner with New York City Football Club as well.
“Three million people watch UK premier league matches, it’s a very global and large audience. Man City has 400 million fans worldwide, including 70 million engaged fans on social media. We want to champion our brand and the water industry, and we connected with Man City on values, because it wants to support Xylem Watermark, our philanthropic programme,” said Xylem senior vice president and chief marketing officer Joe Vesey.
“We need to educate consumers about water, and this is our ambassadorship for the industry,” he added.
Man City players alongside Xylem employees will participate with Xylem Watermark projects, such as building water towers at schools in water stressed parts of the world.
