The Southeast Desalting Association (SEDA) is holding two technology transfer workshops in Florida at the end of January 2013.
The first, on 29 January 2013 in Plant City, is on Chemical Pretreatment For Reverse Osmosis (RO) Technology. The event will be held at the American Water Chemicals facility in Plant City.
This workshop will focus on: introduction to water chemistry; RO principles; organic fouling and biological slime; facility tour: American Water Chemicals; interpretation of normalized curves, troubleshooting and cleaning procedures; and corrosion mechanisms and prevention.
Two days later, on 31 January, SEDA is holding a workshop in the Town of Jupiter Water Treatment Plant on Pretreatment for RO/Nanofiltration (NF).
This workshop will focus on why RO and NF treatment requires pretreatment of the raw water; what occurs if pretreatment is not properly applied; the objectives and methods of pretreatment; the use of ultrafiltration or microfiltration as pretreatment for RO or NF, and hands-on experience with many types of pretreatment equipment.
