Nitto Denko/Hydranautics have been contracted to supply desalination membranes for what will be the world’s largest seawater desalination plant with 16 in reverse-osmosis elements, which is being built in Sorek, Israel.
The facility, which will supply 411,000 m³/d capacity of water in 2013, will use Hydranautics‘ newly-developed 16-in SWC-1640 and ESPAB-1640 elements.
The contract was awarded by the design and construction contractor for the plant, Sorek Desalination Ltd, led by IDE Technologies.
