Seven Seas appoints Lazard advisor to board

Desalination and advanced water treatment company Seven Seas Water announced on 27 June 2013 the appointment to its board of a former US Treasury deputy assistant secretary, Western Hemisphere.

Brian O’Neill is a senior advisor at Lazard, the global financial advisory and asset management firm.

Before the US Treasury, O’Neill enjoyed a 30‑year career with JP Morgan Chase, where he held several leadership positions, including chairman of investment banking for Latin America and Canada. While in that post, he lived in South America for 12 years, with operating responsibilities in Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

Doug Brown, Seven Seas’ chairman, said the board elected O’Neill based on his extensive professional experience working with governments, global corporations and financial institutions.

“The combination of Brian’s financial expertise and intimate knowledge of Latin America provides a strong complement to our board,” he said. “Brian’s board appointment, following the recent selection of Claudio Baldovino as president of Seven Seas Water South America, affirms our dedication to becoming a leading desalination service company in South America.”

“Potable water represents one of the most urgent needs of this century, and Seven Seas is particularly well positioned to capitalize on that opportunity,” said O’Neill. “Desalination is an important solution to a growing water demand, and I look forward to participating in the next phase of the company’s growth.”
