Seawater Reverse Osmosis Desalination: Innovative Intake Designs

The search for additional reductions in the cost of seawater reverse-osmosis (SWRO) desalination needs new leads now energy recovery has gone about as far as it can go. The authors believe this can be done by improving raw-water quality using innovative intake designs. The use of “filtration” type intakes can have a significant effect on reducing the life-cycle cost of a SWRO plant.
