Moore takes over engineering for Modern Water

Brian Moore has left Thames Water to become Modern Water’s new engineering manager as part of the UK membrane desalination company’s planned growth in its engineering department.

Modern Water says the recruitment is in response to increased client interest its version of forward-osmosis technology.

Moore is a chartered chemical engineer with over 20 years of experience in municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment, having previously worked in senior technical and management positions for client, contracting and consulting organisations.

He has extensive international project experience from the Middle East, Far East, USA and Europe, and has spent four years based in Spain as technical director for PRIDESA/ Acciona Agua. A further three years were spent in the United Arab Emirates as project manager for Mott MacDonald.

His desalination experience spans his entire career; from seawater reverse‑osmosis plants in the early 1990s to most recently leading the delivery of the award%#8209;winning 150,000 m³/d brackish-water desalination project on the Thames Estuary in London.
