CSM fouling-resistant reverse-osmosis membranes, manufactured by Woongjin Chemical of South Korea, have been selected for the Fajr Phase II Project in Iran to help reduce biological fouling and scaling.
The membranes will be used to treat river water to produce boiler process water. They have been used at Fajr’s Phase I Plant since 2006 to produce boiler process as well as drinking water.
The plant, located in Bandar Imam Khomeini, Iran, is expected to be in full operation by September 2011, will have a capacity of 131,000 m³/d.The EPC contractor is Zolal Iran and the client is Fajr Petrochemical Company.
