Kenya has awarded Almar Water Solutions a 100,000 m3/d desalination plant project in Mombasa and AquaSwiss a 30,000 m3/d project in Likoni.
The cost of the Mombasa plant is KES 16 billion ($156.2 million), reports Kenya’s Daily Nation. Construction is due to begin in June 2019, and completion is set for 2021. The operations and maintenance contract runs for 25 years.
The plant will serve a million people in Mombasa’s North Mainland zone.
