Doosan Hydro Technology announced on 3 June 2009 that it had completed its work on the Luggage Point Advanced Water Treatment Plant in Queensland, Australia, part of the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project, the southern hemisphere’s largest recycled water project.
The Luggage Point Alliance contracted Doosan to supply brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) trains to the 66,000 m³/d plant. Within six months of receipt of the order, Doosan Hydro Technology designed, manufactured and delivered the four (3 duty, 1 standby) BWRO Trains for early installation.
Each 22,000 m³/d train consisted of pre-assembled pressure-vessel modules. Doosan also designed and supplied the interconnecting piping, CIP system, instrument panels, sample panels and PLC panels.
The supplied equipment has been successfully commissioned and put into service, operating over a 300% TDS range with nominal recoveries between 80 and 85%.
