Danfoss has launched a higher-capacity version of its isobaric energy-recovery device for reverse osmosis, the iSave 40.
The device will work with systems from 300 to 800 m³/d.
Jesper Bentzen, global sales and marketing director at Danfoss, says the iSave 40 is a much-anticipated addition to the iSave product range.
“Response to the iSave 21, launched two years ago, has been excellent. RO engineers have been quick to adapt the advantages of the iSave into their systems, and have told us that the combination of outstanding energy efficiency, small footprint and simple operation is just what they are looking for these days,” he said.
The new iSave 40 shares all of the iSave 21’s advantages. Energy transfer is up to 91%, providing system energy savings of up to 60% compared to configurations with no energy recovery.
Its simple installation is not just due to the smallest footprint available in isobaric ERD, but also because the iSave design combines three components into one. The rotary isobaric pressure-exchanger, electric motor and high-pressure positive-displacement pump are all joined in one compact unit.
Like the iSave 21, the new iSave 40 also reduces the need for trained operators, since its motor-controlled rotor spin is controlled by an electric motor; not only are overflow and overspin a thing of the past – the iSave also provides constant flow despite variations in feedwater salinity and temperature.
The iSave 40 is the ideal partner for Danfoss APP pumps and works with APP 21 all the way up to APP 38.
