Culligan introduces reverse osmosis and membrane bioreactor systems

Italian water treatment firm Culligan has introduced a new skid-mounted seawater RO desalination solution, SW Evo, and a containerised membrane bio reactor system.

The SW Evo can produce 480 m3/d of fresh water from feed waters with up to 42,000 ppm of salinity, and uses an average of 2kWhH/m3 of energy by employing the latest energy recovery technology.

The membrane bioreactor system combines activated sludge treatment with solids-liquids separation by way of membranes, reducing footprint by up to 50 per cent compared to conventional activated sludge systems. The membranes are flat sheet with pore size of 0.15 µm. The new system comes in 20 or 40-foot containers, representing 25 m3/d and 50 m3/d flow rates respectively.

At the same time, Culligan launched a new line of water softeners and CTM Culligan top mount filters.
