Bahrain oil refinery installs GE Water mobile technologies

Bahrain Petroleum Company has installed mobile technology from GE Water at Awali refinery to produce high-purity boiler feedwater.

The oil company, which refines 260,000 barrels of crude a day, was previously trucking imported water to the site.

GE Water provided a turnkey operations and maintenance solution of 13 mobile water units, including six mobile seawater multimedia filter containers, five mobile seawater reverse osmosis containers, and four diesel-operated electrical generators. Additionally, it supplied all mobile pumping skids, tanks, and interconnecting piping and cabling.

The solution, producing approximately 3,264 m3/d, began operating in May 2017 and will continue for a year.
