AMTA webinar to look at Florida nanofiltration plant

The American Membrane Technology Association’s next webinar on 28 October 2010 will look at the split-feed nanofiltration plant in Jupiter, Florida.

With a total capacity of 30 MGD (113,000 m³/d) the town’s water treatment facility serves more than 80,000 people living in Jupiter, Juno Beach and unincorporated areas of Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

Paul Jurczak, manager of the Town of Jupiter, will discuss the construction of the nanofiltration treatment plant currently under way, which will begin to replace the older conventional lime softening water treatment facility in 2011. The 14.5 MGD (55,000 m³/d) nanofiltration facility will use a fresh shallow aquifer as its supply and will provide town residents with a barrier against viruses and bacteria.

Registration can be made via AMTA’s website.
