ACWA Group has appointed Fadey Kassim as chief officer of sales and strategy to drive growth in the Middle East, particularly in the municipal and industrial water reuse segment.
Kassim was previously chief operating officer at Aqualyng, and is a specialist in desalination and wastewater solutions with 18 years’ experience of engineering, business development, utility planning, and delivering major projects in diverse global locations.
This includes major engineering, procurement and construction projects in the water industry, including management of funding and equity partners in Asia; as well as wide experience in Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. Nassim was a client representative for Palm Water in Dubai, managing water projects on the Palm Jumeriah archipelago in the United Arab Emirates, before joining Aqualyng.
“With an immediate focus on the highly competitive and challenging Middle East market, Fadey’s experience in the region, in particular at Palm Jumeriah, and his drive and passion for the industry, will be invaluable,” said AWCA managing director Gary Jackson.
ACWA Group delivered the $150 million seawater reverse osmosis desalination project at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, in 2009. The company offers strainers and filtrations systems tailored to client and site requirements, and provides design, build, operate and maintenance expertise.
