In the Canary Islands, the Consejo Insular de Aguas de Gran Canaria has awarded a €4 million contract to Acciona Agua for the operation, conservation and maintenance of the 5,000 m³/d Roque Prieto and 10,000 m³/d Bocabarranco desal plants located on the island of Gran Canaria.
The concession contract runs for six years.
Roque Prieto went into service in 2001, the same year in which the Bocabarranco plant was expanded to its present size.
