Siemens seeks 50% reduction in desalination energy
Siemens Water Technologies is using a Sing$ 4 million (US$ 2.9 million) from Singapore’s Environment & Water Industry Development Council (EWI) to develop an innovative seawater desalination technology, which it claims could cut energy consumption by at least 50% compared with existing desalination technologies.

CDM establishes technical centre in Singapore
CDM announced in June the establishment of a global Technical Centre for Integrated Water Management and Urban Planning to be based in Singapore. The new centre will promote the application of advanced planning and simulation models, decision software and geospatial information systems for improved understanding and management of sustainable urban environments.
