AdVE desalination pilot plant approved for Laredo
A 50,000 gpd (190,000 L/d) advanced vapor compression desalination (AdVE) pilot plant is to be constructed and operated for the City of Laredo, Texas. The City Council has approved a US$ 1.6 million joint proposal by Terrabon LLC and the Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES).

The US Water Environment Research Foundation, through the Paul L Busch Award, is offering US$ 100,000 to encourage researchers working in wastewater, water reuse, biosolids, stormwater, watersheds, and other areas “to use their imagination, take risks, explore new directions, and ultimately realize the possibilities inherent in their valuable work”.

Doyen of Japanese desalination retiring
