Mexican desalination plant to tender soon
Comision Estadal Del Agua De Baja California (CEA) in Mexico is to build a 21,600 m³/d desalination plant in the city of Ensenada, to be tendered with a 40% federal contribution towards its estimated cost of Peso 351.900 million (US$ 28.8 million). The successful tenderer will contribute the remaining 60%.

Commission approves Huntington Beach desalination plant
The California State Lands Commission on 29 October 2010 gave approval for the Huntington Beach seawater desalination plant in its revised location next to the AES power plant.

Marin board winning desalination vote
All four members of the Marin Municipal Water District board who were up for election appear to have been returned by voters, leaving the California county’s cautious push towards desalination intact. A small proportion of votes have still to be counted.

Carlsbad city reported to be delaying desalination deal
Objections by City of Carlsbad to the water purchasing deal between San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA) and Poseidon Resources relating to the Carlsbad desalination plant are reported to have delayed talks to finalise the deal.
