A workshop on Understanding and Preventing Corrosion in Caribbean SWRO Plants will take place in Aruba, Netherlands Antilles, on 19 May 2012, prior to the 2012 Conference of the Caribbean Desalination Association (CaribDA).
Dr Glenn Byrne of Rolled Alloys will present the one-day workshop. He will discuss the different types of corrosion affecting the high-pressure piping in seawater reverse-osmosis (SWRO) systems, how to recognize the source and type of corrosion and how to prevent corrosion.
Dr Byrne has extensive experience in all phases of metallurgy and now leads a team that works proactively with specifiers and fabricators. They seek to refine and optimize purchase specifications and fabrication procedures and processes, welder training and qualification to optimize the seawater-corrosion resistance and performance of corrosion-resistant alloys in SWRO applications.
CaribDA members have been asked to submit in advance questions /concerns /topics of interest /pictures etc, so that Dr Byrne can be prepared to help to solve their problems.
