Saline Water Conversion Corporation of Saudi Arabia has invited firms to resubmit bids on nine desalination plant projects that were brought forward in January 2018, reports MEED.
The plants were tendered following a royal decree from Saudi Arabia’s ruler King Salman, which pledged 2 billion riyals ($530 million) to cover the new capacity.
The proposal at that time was to complete the nine projects within 18 months, a schedule that looks likely to be pushed back now that the tender process is to be repeated.
The total new capacity of the nine new plants was to be 240,000 m3/d.
