Oman Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) has issued a request for proposals for technical advisory services for a desalination project in Wadi Dayqah (Qurayyat) near Muscat.
The request is for a consultant to prepare a detailed tender document and contract to build an independent water project on a build, operate, and own basis. The deadline for submissions is 2 October 2017.
PAEW plans to invest $83 million in new water projects for municipal and industrial use, reports Oman Observer.
Current live projects in Oman include Qurayyat desalination plant, capacity 200,000 m3/d, which is expected to be operational by the end of year; Barka, 281,000 m3/d, which will complete by mid-2018; and Suhar, 250,000 m3/d.
