No pure-play desalination investments in top 20 contractors

Of the top 20 construction contractors in desalination, only Singapore company, Hyflux, provides investors with exposure to desalination, unalloyed with other industry risks according to market analyst, Nanalyse.

The analyst followed up an earlier study of the top ten engineering, procurement and construction contractors for desalination plants built between 2000-2011 with a look at the next ten companies on the list. It found that none of its most recently analysed  ten were “pure play” desalination investments.

They were:
UK’s Biwater;
Tedagua, part of the Spanish construction giant, the ACS Group;
subsidiary of Spain’s transportation infrastructure multinational Ferrovial, Cadagua;
Saudi-based Wetico;
Japanese water treatment and chemicals company, Nomura Micro Science;
Inima – part of the engineering, construction and environmental services group, GS E&C;
Spanish water management company, Aqualia;
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan;
Pittsburgh, USA-based Aquatech; and
water treatment chemicals and water treatment facilities company Kurita Water Industries.
