Exova bags power plant testing deal in Abu Dhabi

Testing firm, Exova, has won a five-year contract to provide testing services for the Taweelah B power and desalination plant in Abu Dhabi.

Under the deal with Taweelah Asia Power Company (TAPCO), Exova has assumed responsibility for all onsite water testing support and advisory services to ensure the quality of the drinking water produced on the plant.

And Exova will provide off-site testing at its Dubai facility for specialised analyses to verify that the water quality complies with the requirements of the Abu Dhabi Regulation and Supervision Bureau (RSB).
 
United Arab Emirates and Oman general manager at Exova, Jason Dodds, said: “We are proud to have been awarded both the on and off-site water testing contracts by TAPCO. This further underlines our track record in the provision of water chemistry services in the UAE, which helps our customers meet regulatory requirements and ensures the public have access to safe drinking water at all times.”
 
The Taweelah B Power and Desalination Plant is part of the fifth and largest Independent Water and Power Project in in Abu Dhabi. It is 80 km north east of Abu Dhabi city. The was project was developed under the government’s programme for the privatisation of the water and power sector.
