Avista Technologies has launched what it has claimed to be “a revolutionary way of calculating chemical dosing.”
The software – AdvisorCi - exceeds industry standards for scale prediction according to Avista. Its proprietary complex ion (Ci) intelligence calculates temperature correction factors and saturation potential of feedwater based on the concentration of free ions, or complex ion formation. This, Avista claims, overcomes a “critical weakness” in currently deployed indices that are founded on the total analytical value, which typically includes bonded ions.
The product enables water treatment system designers, original equipment manufacturer’s, and end users to forecast precise chemical dosing. And it provides rates for their membrane system chemical needs that achieve maximum recovery from even the most stressed applications.
Ci, Avista said, produces precise dosing projections for the most complex waters and high-recovery applications. It’s calculations are draw on critical variables including saturation constants, temperature correction factors, individual ion product calculations and rates of reaction.
