RO treatment plant planned for Thai resort
A Baht 300 million (US$ 9.75 million) reverse-osmosis (RO) wastewater treatment system is being planned for the coastal resort of Phuket, Thailand.According to local press reports on 26 April 2012, the Phuket Municipality agreed to provide 800 m² of land for the RO plant to ITR Water Solution Co Ltd of Bangkok. The land was granted under a build-operate-transfer agreement, if the project gets approval.
The plant would treat wastewater from an adjacent treatment plant to produce 15,000-20,000 m³ of high-quality water for the municipality, say the reports.
