Hyflux is to develop the Ain Sokhna integrated water and power plant project in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone on a build own operate basis.
The 150,000 m3/d desalination plant project was originally contracted as an engineer, procure and construct deal in March 2016, but the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone has now requested the change.
Hyflux has identified partners to develop the project, and will announce further details in due course.
The change is not expected to have a material financial impact on Hyflux for the year to 31 December 2017.
