IDE Technologies is to provide a reverse osmosis desalination system to Russian oil transporter Oteko for a plant on the shores of the Black Sea.
The plant will be part of the wider new cargo terminal and industrial area development at Taman Seaport.
The system, comprising two IDE Progreen desalination units, will produce 11,000 m3/d of drinking quality water, which will be sprayed onto coal piles to stop coal dust from spreading on the wind.
IDE Progreen is a chemical-free desalination technology in a modular design.
“This is a great opportunity for IDE to partner with Oteko, to assist with immediate water needs while looking ahead to future projects in Russia. This project propels our mission as an innovator in water treatment technology, delivering solutions for industry,” said IDE Projects chief executive Amnon Levy.
