Saudi Arabia’s Water and Electricity Co has requested expressions of interest on Jubail phase 3, an integrated water and power project to include 1.17 million m3/d of desalination.
The project covers development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, implementation, operation and maintenance of a 1.17 million m3/d desalination plant, of which 60 per cent will be reverse osmosis (RO), and 40 per cent thermal; as well as 3,000 megawatts of power.
The power and water purchase contract is for 25 years.
The plant will be located adjacent to Jubail 1 and 2, and Jubail RO plant, on the Arabian Gulf, south of Jubail Industrial City.
The deadline is 1 May 2018.
