Water reuse was near the top of a long list of issues for discussion when Israel’s minister of industry, trade and labor, Shalom Simhon, signed a technical cooperation agreement on 16 May 2011 with Sabesp, the water utility for the state of Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Also attending the meeting at the state’s Department of Drainage & Water Resources were the department secretary Giriboni Edson, the chief executive of Sabesp, Dilma Pena, and two other water companies.
Sabesp has had an agreement since November 2009 with Mekorot, Israel’s national water company, for technology exchange and cooperation in the areas of water reuse, loss reduction and quality.
