NeoTech Aqua Solutions Inc of the USA has expanded its UV disinfection product line for municipalities and large-volume users.
The new Patriot line of UV systems utilizes NeoTech Aqua‘s ReFlex™ and D438 technology, which was recently certified for a minimum 3-log inactivation of Cryptosporidium. The Patriot units are capable of disinfecting 1.4-72 MGD (5,300-272,500 m³/d).
The inherent advantages of NeoTech Aqua’s patented chamber design reduce operating costs and lamp requirements by as much as 90% compared with conventional UV systems. No tools are required to change UV lamps, so system servicing is easier, faster and safer.
“The fact that we can disinfect high volumes of water using only two lamps and 308 W per chamber with 120 V or 230 V single-phase power is a testament to the efficiencies of our reflective chamber design,” says Dr Randy Cooper, NeoTech Aqua’s chief technology officer. “Such efficiencies translate to a dramatic reduction in the number of lamps a plant requires and a significant reduction in power requirements for disinfection or advanced oxidation processes.”
