UF units from Innovative bound for Arizona and Haiti

Eight ultrafiltration (UF) drinking water treatment plants are to be provided by Innovative Water Technologies Inc (IWT) for the Central Arizona Project in remote locations throughout Arizona, USA. Units are also being sent urgently to Haiti.

The Arizona plants will range from 20,000 to 50,000 gallons per day (75,000-190,000 L/d) and will be from the IWT Sunspring UF series, which uses GE Zeeweed membranes.

IWT will perform the manufacturing, delivery to each site, assembly at the site, start-up, commissioning and training.The project was designed by HDR Engineering of Phoenix, Arizona.

The company is also urgently sending UF water treatment units to Port au Prince, Haiti, scene of the disastrous earthquake on 12 January 2010. IWT previously installed a solar-powered Sunspring in the city to provide water for 10,000 people in the Jalousie district.
