A 1,200 m³/d reverse-osmosis (RO) desalination water treatment plant was inaugurated at Kachipuram in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu on 5 June 2013 by Shri TKM Chinnaiah, the state’s minister of animal husbandry.
The RO plant was an initiative of Engineers India Ltd (EIL), which provides engineering and related technical services for refineries and other industrial projects working under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
The skid-based plant, provided for Kancheepuram Municipality, comprises auto-clean filter, chlorination, iron removal, dechlorination, microfiltration and RO units. It is part of EIL’s corporate social responsibility mission.
