The International Desalination Association (IDA) has rescheduled its conference on Desalination: An Energy Solution, which was to have taken place in California in September, to 2-3 November 2010 at the same venue, the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa, Huntington Beach.
IDA says it will waive registration fees for the first 75 utility representatives who register before 1 September 2010. After 1 September, all utilities will still receive a significantly reduced fee of US$ 500 . This price is a reduction of nearly 58% on the regular registration fee of US$ 1,200.
The advance program will be available on the IDA website soon, where the latest information on the event can be found along with registration details.
This conference is supported and endorsed by the American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA). Speaking to D&WR at the recent AMTA conference in San Diego, Randy Truby, one of the conference program organisers for IDA, said one object of the event was to be an outreach to US water utilities to inform them about desalination and water reuse options.
