Pang joins Seven Seas Water as senior vice president

Ark W Pang has joined Seven Seas Water Corporation as senior vice president, chief business development officer and a member of the executive committee.

Pang, managing director and owner of Ark Infrastructure Solutions Inc, joins Seven Seas Water after seven years as chief development officer for the Infrastructure Project Development Division of Kharafi National Company of Kuwait.

At Kharafi, he was responsible for managing a team of project developers during the implementation of selective infrastructure projects in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Previously, Pang was vice president and global water scarcity business development leader for GE Infrastructure Water & Process Technologies. He had a successful career working for 24 years with Ionics Inc, before its sale to GE in 2005, where he held various senior executive management roles, most recently vice president of global business development.

With Ionics, Pang was one of the water industry’s early leaders in promoting the public-private partnership concept for desalination projects. He led the development of such milestone projects as the 375,000 m³/d Sulaibiya Water Reclamation Project in Kuwait and the 200,000 m³/d Hamma Seawater Desalination Project for the city of Algiers. Both projects were developed under long-term build-own-operate-transfer contracts.

During his career, he served on the board of directors of the International Desalination Association.

John Curtis, Seven Seas Water’s president & CEO, said, “Mr Pang’s experience executing the successful development of major water infrastructure projects brings significant value to the Seven Seas Water team. He has over 35 years of technical and commercial water treatment experience and has an extensive background in global infrastructure project development.

“This knowledge correlates well with our build-own-operate business model for water services,” Curtis added. “Mr Pang’s strategic skills in global business development are precisely the expertise we were looking for to support our international growth initiatives.”
