Oil/gas sector MBR leads new H2O Innovation jobs

Supply of a membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment and reuse system to an industrial user in the oil and gas industry in Alberta, Canada, was announced by H2 O Innovation Inc on 8 March 2012.

This was one of several contracts awarded recently and worth Can$ 2.8 million (US$ 2.83 million) to the Canadian company.

H2O Innovation will design, fabricate, deliver and install a Bio-Brane™ MBR system to treat sanitary wastewater from the Alberta client’s work camp. This high-efficiency integrated fixed-film activated sludge and MBR system has been used for municipal or industrial wastewater treatment and water reuse applications around the world.

“Our client noted as key differentiators of our offering its containment in a single building, along with its smaller footprint, lower energy consumption and flexibility in operating with variable charges and flows”, stated Frédéric Dugré, president and CEO of H2O Innovation. “To support our growth in the mining and energy sectors, we are looking to add sales, engineering and project management resources to our Calgary office.”

The second contract will see H2O Innovation build and deliver a nanofiltration/reverse osmosis (RO) membrane water-softening treatment system to the City of Hillsboro, North Dakota, for production of drinking water.

Under other contracts, the company will manufacture and deliver smaller RO water treatment systems to industrial and municipal end-users in the US and Canada.

The contracts bring H2O Innovation’s equipment order backlog to Can$ 28.6 million (US$ 28.9 million).
