Met-Pro claims unique pump for SW/BWRO desalination
05 Aug 12 by desalination
A fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) pump designed specifically for use with seawater and brackish-water desalination systems has been launched by Met-Pro Global Pump Solutions – Fybroc.
The company claims that the Fybroc Series 8500 All-FRP Vertical Turbine Pump is the only one of its kind: the first corrosion-resistant vertical-turbine pump with the casings and mixed flow impeller constructed from homogeneous FRP materials.
Designed for use with seawater intake, brackish-water reverse-osmosis, brine and transfer applications, the pump comes in four sizes with capacities up to 1,700 GPM (386 m³/h), head to 70 ft (21 m) per stage and working pressure to 150 psig (11.4 bar).
