The International Desalination Association (IDA) is now accepting papers for its World Congress in Tianjin, China, in October 2013.
All details related to submitting abstracts for consideration are now available on the IDA website. Authors must use the online template.
The deadline for submissions is 1 October 2012. The congress will be held on 20‑25 October 2013 at the new Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center.
The technical program will be spearheaded by co-chairmen, Khoo Teng Chye and Professor WANG Shi Chang, two global pioneers in desalination. Khoo is an IDA director and currently the executive director of the Centre for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development in Singapore. Prof Wang, also an IDA director, holds a distinguished position at the Chemical Engineering Research Center, School of Chemical Engineering & Technologies, and is director of the Desalination & Membrane Technology Center at Tianjin University.
The congress theme, Desalination: A Promise for the Future, emphasizes the vital role that desalination and water reuse play in helping the planet meet its water needs, faced with increased challenges posed by urbanization, climate change and economic uncertainties. The congress aims to examine these challenges and their potential solutions by providing a platform for water and desalination experts from around the world to exchange knowledge, network and share their expertise and experiences.
