The International Desalination Association will be accepting formal bids to host its 2017 World Congress from 20 April 2014.
Bidding for the biennial event will close on 20 September 2014. The 2015 event is scheduled for San Diego, USA, from 30 August to 4 September 2015.
IDA sets criteria for consideration of congress destinations, as follows:
· Interest in desalination and water reuse and their associated technologies, planned, under construction or in operation
· Invitation and support of the local government and the relevant water/desalination authorities or associations
· Letters of recommendation and support
· Ability to meet IDA criteria and program requirements.

IDA is also now accepting exhibit applications for the 2015 San Diego congress. The exhibition will be the largest and most expansive in IDA World Congress history with over 18,000 m² of space.
New for 2015 is the IDA Innovation Theatre – a designated, multi-purpose area for presentations, information videos and Young Leaders meetings, and where entrepreneurs can showcase their technologies.
