HP pump aimed at medium-range SWRO desalination

Targeting the medium-sized seawater reverse-osmosis market, Danfoss has added a new high-pressure pump to its growing range.

With an output of up to 43 m³/h, the new APP 43 is the company’s largest axial piston pump to date. The energy-efficient pump is ideal for parallel trains that drive medium-sized SWRO plants between 500‑20,000 m³/d.

The APP 43 saves operators up to a full 20% in energy costs compared to centrifugal pumps, says Danfoss. In addition to the lowest energy usage in its class, the APP 43 is also the market’s most compact and service-friendly pump.

“We see a clear trend in the market toward more and more modularity for midsize SWRO plants,” says Jesper Bentzen, sales director at Danfoss. “Operators are looking for the flexibility and reliability of parallel trains without compromising on energy efficiency.”

The APP 43 is available worldwide from 1 July 2013.
