Its recent acquisition of Piedmont Pacific means that Canada’s H2O Innovation Inc is now supplying flexible pipe couplings to some of the largest desalination plants under construction in the world.
Projects such as Sorek (Israel), Carlsbad (USA), Fujairah 1 IWPP SWRO Extension (UAE) and Sadara (Saudi Arabia) are now on the company’s sales list.
On 25 February 2013, H2O Innovation issued an update on the activities and integration of Piedmont Pacific Corporation, the Oakland-based company founded by the late Jim Medanich, which it acquired in December 2013. It is one of the leading manufacturers of flexible pipe couplings for corrosive environments.
Piedmont’s office has now been moved to H2O Innovation’s US base in Vista, California. This enables the company to maximize the use of its existing infrastructure and enables Piedmont’s customers to benefit from its experience in logistics acquired by the exportation of its chemical products.
The company also added dedicated staff in its technical and commercial departments as well as in its supply and logistic services in order to meet the growing demand.
“Through the changes made and improvements in process, we wish to keep the business values that are the foundation of Piedmont: products’ reliability and fast service,” stated Frédéric Dugré, president and CEO of H2O Innovation. “We believe that H2O Innovation’s expertise in membrane filtration combined with Piedmont’s unique products will enable our customers to benefit from a stronger technical support and assistance to the design of complex piping arrangements specific to desalination plants.”
