Former GE executive Bob Muscat has been appointed chief executive officer of Oasys Water, the US forward-osmosis desalination specialist.
Oasys says the appointment marks the beginning of its commercialization phase.
“We are excited to bring Bob on board as we deploy our breakthrough technology into the global water market and look to him to set a long-term vision for the company”, said Jim Matheson, Oasys Water chairman. “Oasys’ technology has exceeded our expectations, and with Bob’s leadership, the company will become a world leader in water desalination.”
Muscat brings nearly 30 years of experience across a diverse set of industries including power generation, manufacturing and environmental services.
“I couldn’t be more excited to lead the Oasys team as we begin to realize our tremendous market potential,” said Bob Muscat. “Oasys has the ability to deliver a truly innovative technology that helps to provide safe and affordable clean water – and that is something I am very proud to be a part of.”
Prior to joining Oasys, Muscat served as general manager of GE Energy’s Environmental Services business. As the global business leader, he executed a turnaround strategy for the US$ 500 million global unit and created a thriving business, generating record operating profits and fulfilling the goal of achieving consistent top-quartile business performance.
